Author: Nicholas Sparks
Director: Scott Hicks
(Film) Starring: Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner
One of my most loved writers is Nicholas Sparks, he is predictable yet writes with such emotion that every single piece of his writing has brought me to tears and made me laugh. His talent is then found by directors such as Scott Hicks, Julie Ann Robinson and Nick Cassavetes and then transformed into amazing motion pictures.
The Lucky One, is about a US Marine who in the middle of war finds a picture of a woman who noone in his Platoon seems to recognise. From the moment Logan, played by Zac Efron, finds this photograph his luck begins to change and he survives the worst of the wars, unlike most of his close friends and team. Soon, as predicted, Logan goes on a search for this mysterious woman and finds her in a small town in America living with her Nana. From then on a slow and very dramatic romance begins and audiences are once again drawn to the edges of their seats wondering what will happen next?!
The movie is a moving love story between two people who have lost and loved throughout their entire lives, however there is a huge secret threatening to break them apart. Will they survive the lies and secrets..or will their love deteriorate? Who knows..watch and see!
I personally loved the movie, it made me cry and i didn't want to turn away in case i missed anything, however the book was One hundred times better and more emotional. But then i always think the books are better than the movies!
Has anyone else watched or read The Lucky One? Whats your thoughts? I think it is well worth both the read and a good old watch...with a box of tissues at the ready!!
