Student stress:

Hey everyone,

So yesterday i woke up at 4am to reluctantly, yet excitedly make my way to Falmouth university. It took us about 5-6 hours to get the uni, and then it was registration time, which went very smoothly- thankfully!

Next we moved all of my belongings into my new room. The room is spacious, new and well equipped for all studying needs ;). Once everything was in my new room, we made our way to ASDA for my shopping. This was a massive ASDA and was literally filled with students. The funny part of it was, as you walked around you noticed every student's trolley was filled with budget shopping and 5kg bags of pasta..i know what I'm going to be eating for the next year! Once my basket was full of budget shopping we went to the check out to meet the most annoying, strange man on the planet!

The checkout operator decided to show my mum how to open a bag, giving step by step instructions. Lets bare in mind we had been up since 4am, been in a car for 6 hours and we were hungry. We ignored the man and continued packing. Next thing we knew the man was asking me where i was from, and how a large town like Sandbach, having 60,000 people present in it, will be a complete change to having under 6000 in Truro! We felt the need to explain to the man that Sandbach is a market town, filled with a very little amount of people. He did not agree. After then being told by him, i was now in the 'Promise Land', i decided to tune off to anything he was saying.

When i returned to my flat to put my shopping in, i walked into the kitchen to discover a condom on the table and rubbish and dirty dishes everywhere. I thought to myself, welcome to student life, but I'm going to have to clean up this rubbish! I didn't though, i had too much to think off to clean if I'm honest.

My parents then had to leave, i was tired and emotional and i couldn't stop crying, so i unpacked the boxes in my room to take my mind off things. Once that was done i went into the kitchen to speak to all my flatmates who were making an omelet for the first time, the kitchen looked like it was on fire with all the smoke! I decided to stick to good old cheese on toast, as i didn't really have an appetite!

Finally it was time to go out, and after having another emotional meltdown on the phone, i got ready and went to my friends flat. We all sat around a table being stupid and drunk and playing drinking games, which soon ended in me having a maltester match (ping pong with a maltester) with a girl called Niki. It was great, took my mind of things. Next we went to the 'Stannary' aka, the student bar. It was filled with hundreds of students who looked lost, and everyone was being nice to everyone. If you got pushed, you both said sorry and walked away quickly. Not like my normal bar experience i have to say.

I then met a guy who asked me what drugs i was taking. I said vodka, as by now i had drank too much vodka and wine to understand the question. Thankfully, it was because my eyes were bloodshot and swollen from suffering fatigue and crying all day!

It was a..should we say..eventful day. I cant say i enjoyed it, but then i didn't really not enjoy it. I have mixed emotions so far. And i miss my Mum! Waking up this morning was weird, walking into a kitchen full of people i don't know! Very strange, but i guess it gets better with time!

I'll keep you posted!

Broken at Hawkstone Park...

The bikes were back last weekend for another adrenaline pumping race at Hawkstone Park. As you drove into the park, paying an extortionate five pound per head for entry, you could see men and woman of all ages sitting around their bikes, tents and caravans relaxing before the next race.

We were at the park to see the talented and fear-less Neal Wailing in the races. He is an extremely talented family member, who has drive and no worries when it comes to riding. It was getting to 11am and it was time for the race to begin. Wailing was on the front line of the race, with about 30-40 other bikers ready to show what they could do on the dirt tracks. As the whole family crowded as close to the gates as they possibly could, we watched as Neal drifted into his 'zone' preparing himself to do his very best. Five minutes later, the riders were 'warming their engines' and the sound of the bikes drilled through the air making even the audience nervous, it was a very exciting experience. Petrol plummeted through the air so much you could actually taste it and the riders were ready. As the English flag was lowered, the first group of riders were speeding ahead, full-throttle leaving the second row of riders literally eating their dust. The atmosphere and emotion that you feel when the bikers take off is really intense! (So intense some of my family members cried, they were so excited and nervous to be watching Neal in the race for the first time).

We stood for 40 minutes whilst the bikers raced around the dirt track and avoided falling off. The first race was a great success and Neal looked rather exhausted after it! We then walked back to the caravan for a nice cup of tea and some hot dogs. It was a great time, the family was all together laughing and having a good old banter, waiting for the next race at 1pm.

Finally, 1pm came around and we all found ourselves at the starting line again watching the bikers prepare themselves. The flag went down and the bikers were off, full throttle doing what they love, and doing it so well. We were all screaming for Neal behind the gates and ran to the next stop where we were hoping to see him racing around the next corner. This is were the problems began.

At first, we thought we had missed him come around the corner, until we suddenly all looked up and noticed his bike lying in the middle of the track. My mum and Nana began to panic as we knew it wasn't good. Thankfully, we managed to spot Neal by his bike with the paramedics watching over him and assessing if he was okay. He wasn't okay..he decided he couldn't finish the race. We then waited for Neal to safely come off the race track and walk towards the medical hut to be assessed on his injuries.

Unfortunately, Neal had broken his collarbone and hit his head, causing him pain and dizzy-ness. We had to take him to A and E to get his arm wrapped in a sling and recieve some pain killers. As we were packing up the caravans, we had heard that another biker had come off and broken his leg. This race was a painful one! Thankfully, we managed to get everything packed up in good time and left for the hospital. Luckily Neal had no other injuries, however we were told Neal could look forward to about 5 weeks of excruciating pain. Hopefully he recovers soon, so no doubt he can get back on his bike and race once again!

It was a brilliant yet stressful experience!

Thinking of you Neal!

Chris Brown Uproar...again!

Chris brown's new tattoo (WENN)

The picture you see above you is the newest tattoo printed on the famous artist Chris Brown's neck. This tattoo caused an uproar in the news and twitter. The public have seen the bizarre tattoo, and notice a similarity with the picture of the famous singer Rhianna that was leaked in 2009, after she was disgracefully beaten up by Brown.

According to the tattoo artist Peter Koskela, the rumours on this tattoo have been a 'real blow' to him. Koskela stated "I would never print anything harmful, or anything deemed racial, violent or gang related". According to the artist, brown wanted a 'mexican sugar skull'.

However, the public disagree and believe that the picture is too close to that of the beaten pop star and is a disgrace. People have lost even more respect for Chris Brown because of his latest Tattoo.

The questions that need to be answered, by Brown himself are: Is it a picture of Rhianna's beaten face? Or is it just a picture of a beaten woman? Either way, the star clearly has bad taste when it comes to his tattoo's, perhaps he should have thought about the picture before he had it inked into his skin!

I used to be a fan of Chris Brown, more than that, i adored the man. However over the past few years i have seen a disturbing side to him related to anger and arrogance.

I believe the singer should have thought about his choice of tattoo before he had it inked. He has lost even more fans because of this silly, outrageous mistake, it will take a lot of convincing before the public decide that the tattoo isn't offencive to women, or Rhianna herself. I think the ink is quite demeaning to women because it looks like Brown has a picture of a beaten female on his neck. The tattoo is disgusting and Brown needs to think about his actions, and the sensitivity of the public before he inks crazy pictures onto his body!

What are your thoughts?

The Whisper Community

Have you ever heard of the online Whisper Community? No? You're missing out.

The Whisper Community is a group of people of all ages and races who come together and make "Whisper" video's on YouTube. Some even have their own websites all about 'whispering'. The purpose of the videos is to help people sleep, gain confidence and feel relaxed. I find the videos very relaxing when i have a lot on my mind at night. I just put my headphones in and listen to people take you away. Sometimes they act out role plays, such as relaxing spa days or they just have a general chat about their day in a very calming voice.

My favourite 'whisperer' would be TheOneLillum on YouTube. She is an extremely talented person, who tries her very hardest to relax you, sometimes she is that good i fall asleep half way through the video! The whisper community is a very helpful community of people, who take time out of their day to help others relax and feel better about themselves. They are very inspirational in my opinion and have helped me to sleep, or inspired me to be more confident and believe in myself.

If you suffer from insomnia or struggle to get relaxed before you sleep, you should seriously have a browse on you tube at the videos. There are many different people and types of videos within the community that are certain to meet your needs and help you to get a good nights sleep!

Check it out!

Hong Kong the city of Smog...

My Hong Kong Adventure...

During my travels back from New Zealand to the UK, me and my family (except my sister, who stayed in New Zealand) decided to stay in Hong Kong to split the flight home instead of enduring a full 27 hours on a plane.

We were extremely well accommodated in the Sky City Marriott Hotel, Tung Chung. I have to say it was the most amazing hotel i think i will ever stay in. Struggling with fatigue we arrive at the hotel in the early hours of the Chinese, cold morning. As soon as we exited the bus from the hotel, we were greeted by a well dressed man who fluently spoke English and grabbed all of hour belongings. We then were politely and quickly checked into the hotel and on our way to the rooms. My dad chose to stay on the smoking floor with my brother ( where it is legal to smoke in your hotel room....very old fashioned, and the floor smelt rotten). However me and my mum vacated to the next floor up in the hotel, exited the very shiny elevator and walked to our room. The floor was quite and clean. You could see your reflection in the walls and doors of the hotel corridor it was that clean! We place our room card into the key slot, and opened the large heavy door with difficulty ( it was very early morning, we had just left Jess, my sister, in New Zealand and we were also very jet lagged from a 13 hour flight, everything we did was with great effort).

The room was amazing, two large single beds, which in my opinion were double-sized, stood calling our name with pure white duvets and squishy pillows. The room consisted of a massive window that covered the entire wall, a small black desk with a phone, bible and lamp situated on top. The room was clean and fresh smelling, and just the right temperature. It was amazing.  I walked, with difficulty, to the bed and crashed. The bed was a wonderful heaven of pure comfort, freshness and bounciness. Honestly, i suggest you go all the way to Hong Kong, just to sleep in the beds of the Marriott Hotel for at least one night, you have not felt pure comfort otherwise.

Eventually, we all managed to relax a little and fall asleep. In the early hours of the morning, we all awoke hungry and feeling the time difference. However, we decided not to waste our one day in Hong Kong. After getting a small breakfast of egg on toast, due to being too tired to have an appetite, we journeyed into the town of Tung-Chung.  The town was small, filled with people and a little on the crazy side. Taxi's were flying around the roads not really caring how dangerous they were, the sky was dark and muggy. Fog followed you wherever you went and lurked low around the buildings. Tung-Chung was not a nice place. Sky-Scraping buildings were towering over you with people just waking up and hanging their washing over their balconies. The houses were tiny apartments that sat on top of each other, it was the strangest way of living i have ever seen! Not to mention that the town smelt. It was a smell i find difficult to describe, kind of like dirty air and unfamiliar foods that made your stomach churn. When we walked through the markets, all i could see was dead ducks and swans hanging from their necks on a hook ready to be sold. I have never felt so disturbed in my life. (If your a vegetarian, i advise you not to go to Hong Kong!)

After that we went to the city of Hong Kong it's self, taking a very futuristic train that was very fast, and actually spoke to you on your travels. The train was filled with busy-bodies getting ready for the day ahead of them. I must say the city was rather fascinating, it was dark and cramped...and you still had the lurking, frosty fog following you.  However, the city's architecture and technology was truly futuristic, you could tell Hong Kong was a rich city for shopping and business men. A strange, mysterious place indeed.

I realise that i was overwhelmed with fatigue, worry, sadness and excitement whilst i was in Hong Kong, and therefore i stay optimistic that the city itself has lots of potential..although i don't think ill be traveling back there anytime soon. (Its not my type of holiday destination, but hey! at least i can say i have been!)

Thanks all, i have more stories on Hong Kong if you would like to hear them?

Walk Off The Earth: The Musical Talents

WOTE-HMV Ritz Manchester <3 font="font">

On the 7th September 2012 Walk Off The Earth played in The HMV Ritz in Manchester.

As you walked into the arena, you could smell the anticipation in the air for the talented WOTE to entertain the already rowdy crowd, who were ecstatically jumping and singing to the fantastic Canadian band USS. The room was small and cramped, filled with thousands of enthusiastic people dancing in each others sweat. Bars were situated either side of the room with rushed-off-their-feet staff serving beers and vodkas in plastic cups. You could feel the excitement in the room, and it put everyone in a good mood. Not one person cared what they looked like or how crazy they seemed (to be honest, it was far too hot!). People were pushing to get as close to the stage as possible, whilst wiping the sweat from their forehead.
(You know you are in for a good night when your in the middle of a room filled with crazy sweating people jumping and singing.)

I had never heard of USS before i came to the Ritz on that amazing Friday night before my 19th Birthday. I have to say i fell in love instantly. A mixture of all different genres of music buzzing in your head and making the atmosphere in the room carefree and fun. Everybody was loving it. The band were extremely passionate with their music and showing their talents, to the point where they were 'head-banging' around the stage and standing on their heads behind the DJ box. They were a band who knew what they wanted from a crowd, and controlled them into a bunch of jumping rockers! USS really know how to get their crowd ready and keep them anticipated for the main show-WOTE. ( I must say USS, you will go far. I am planning on buying your album and learning all the words to your meaningful songs of passion.)

It came to around 9.10pm and that's when the fun started! Walk Of The Earth had the whole arena in complete darkness with the ear-piercing screams of a giddy crowd. Suddenly, the lights blew up, everyone was screaming and out came one of the most talented bands i have ever seen. They were constant entertainment using too many instruments to count, running around the stage with sparklers and throwing band freebies into the crowd (including a Ukulele). It's not just the fact they kept their audience entertained though, it was the fact they could actually sing! The concert did not last long, perhaps an hour, but it was one of the most amazing hours of my life. I love it when a mass of people get together, have a good time and enjoy the same music. We were all carefree, (a little drunk) and loving it! If you have not seen/heard of WOTE, i suggest you do so now, it wont take long for them to become a world wide sensation (if you don't think they are already that is!)

I have seen Katy Perry, Chris Brown, Rhianna, Kelly Clarkson and Parmore live in concert, but WOTE's concert by far beat them all! A truly talented band who are carefree and loving life..just like everyone should be!!
Thanks All!!

Maria Miller-The atrocity.

This blog, is about my pure disgust in one of David Cameron's recent decisions-appointing the self-righteous Maria Miller as MP of equality!
This is the women, lets not forget, who voted against:

-Gay adoption rights
-The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill which would give lesbian couples the ability to receive fertility treatment
-The process of the Racial and Religious Hatred Bill
Plus she was in favour of defining Homophobia, racial hatred and prejudice and simply just "Freedom of Speech".

So basically, the point i am getting at is, any one who is white in colour and is a heterosexual is equal. However, if you find yourself of a different colour and you are bisexual/homosexual then you have no rights, you shouldn't be able to have a life by getting married and starting a family, and if people are discriminating against you, well sorry but that's okay because its freedom of speech.

HOW RIDICULOUS! Welcome to 'Tory' England everyone. How can a person who believes not everyone is equal and not every single person on this planet should be treated the same (and have the same rights) be appointed the MP of EQUALITY?  David Cameron has made a complete outrage of a decision and needs to rethink who he appoints.

Every person on this planet, whether they be white, or any other colour was born into this world the same way, BIRTH! Every person will have come from their mother weather it be a natural birth or a Cesarean. Why should skin colour, regions or religions make a difference? No matter who you were conceived by and no matter where in the world you were born, you are still HUMAN. Therefore, surely you are entitled to HUMAN RIGHTS. You should be allowed to marry who you like, where you like and when you like. If you are a gay/lesbian couple, what makes you any different from a straight couple? In my opinion nothing. and therefore you should be allowed to have a family! Who is the judge to say that Gay families will not bring up a family as well as a heterosexual family? No one has this evidence or can prove this statement as true because it is bias and discriminative!

Honestly, its like going back to the old days when Martin Luther King JR was fighting for African Americans to have the same rights as "White" people. Have we not seen enough fighting, hurt, deaths and struggling from people fighting for their rights in the past who-knows-how-many years!

Get the self-righteous, old-fashioned, distasteful Maria Miller out of Parliament! She disgust me, and shame on David Cameron for failing to appoint an MP who actually believed in equality.

Angry and disgusted!
What are your thoughts on this outrageous decision?

Lillian

This little cutie is Lilly. My little Jack Russel. She is strangely short, and rather fat. My cute little hippo. We first saw Lilly in the car on my way home from school. My Dad and Brother picked her up as a surprise and to keep my other Jack Russel crossed with a Corgy company! (I promise i will make a blog on Sam too). I fell in love instantly!

Now, Lillian is no ordinary Jack Russell. She is short, with a very fluffy curly tail, and her ears are far too big for her little head. It makes her perfect! She is a crazy animal who constantly wants to run around the house as fast as she can with her tongue out of her mouth dodging (sometimes dodging anyway) the furniture!

The best part of Lillys personality is when she wants something! She stands on her back two legs, in the stance of a Meercat and makes extremely bizarre noises out of her mouth! Honestly, its like she is actually trying her hardest to talk! I'll have to record it for you one day! She only begs when she wants her belly scratched or food! This dog will honestly eat anything you put in front of her! She even had the cheek the other day, to jump on to the sofa when i was eating my toast, quickly grab my piece of toast and run off with the entire thing in her mouth! She then sat in front of me having a good old munch on my stolen breakfast staring at me as if shes finds it all very amusing. Little bugger!
Not only this, but she will not take trouble off any other dog, no matter how large or crazy looking that pooch may be! I took the little lady for a walk the other day..it was a complete disaster! The little devil saw the nice fast running stream and went full bore into it, looking like she was drowning, attempting to catch her ball. Finally she managed to get out! The next minute a giant 'Staffie' bounds over to Lilly like she is something to eat. Now staffies frighten me anyway, i think they are nasty looking things! (Sorry to those who have a 'Staffie'!) There i am shouting Lilly, trying to back away from the crazy looking HUGE dog when suddenly, Lilly is having none of it..barking and chasing the poor staffie away! Shes a little fighter bless her :)

The little cutie, is asleep next to me right now. She's adorable when shes asleep as well. She will do as she is told as your going to bed, and get into her nice cosy basket filled with fluff and blankets (she gets more comfort than i do!) and then in the morning you will wake up with Lillys head also on your pillow, her legs high in the air and your cover over her whole body! Puppy in paradise in the morning!

Shes a little crazy, but you have to love her!

What crazy things do your dogs do?

Magical world of Disney!

Peter Pan...<3 p="p">

You're never to old to watch Disney!

In my opinion, no one is too old to watch a good old fashioned Disney movie. I think they were made for children for fun, and then for adults with humour and meaning.

I love Disney movies, and i don't know one person who doesn't! My favourite would have to be Peter Pan by far. Disney has also grown so far in society. Originally Disney movies were all about woman being damsels in distress who needed saving by the handsome male hero. However nowadays Disney has grown with society and we see more women heroes.

Disney is just magic! It also holds truth and myths behind it. I found that after studying Philosophy and classic studies on Ancient Greek and Roman society that Disney related a lot to the myths of the past. For example, when i was younger i watched Hercules thinking it was a typically fun movie about a girl and town that needed saving. However i then had to study the movie in 6th form studies and realised how much it related to Ancient Greek myths about the gods and where you/your spirit goes when you die. I love ancient Greek and Roman society, also a truly magical time to have been alive in! If i was asked if i could be reborn into any time and place, it would most definitely be in Ancient Greece, with philosophers such as Socrates and Plato.

Anyway, back to Disney..You can never be too old to sit in your pj's with blanket and some chocolate on a Saturday night watching the classic Disney movies such as:
Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Mulan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules and lets not forget the true classic-Beauty and the Beast! <3 br="br">Love Love Love them!
Whats your favourite Disney movie?

Ugly surprise at Mcdonald's!

The choking hazard!
The picture you see above, is the wonderful little present my mum received from McDonald's. She was on her way back from Cornwall (Amazingly beautiful place, if you haven't been there, i recommend it) and fancied a coke on her way home. Drinking the coke, and thinking the noise in the cup was just the ice..she finished it and then opened it up, coming to the realization that the drink dispenser, screws, dust and all had also been given to her...(with no ice).

Its disgusting! She could have choked on the small screws, small enough to have been sucked on the straw. Plus not to mention all the dust and dirt that was on the (what we think)-drink dispenser.

Did the employees at McDonald's not realise that half their machine was missing? Maybe they should focus on the quality of the products they are giving out and how clean their machines are, rather than how fast they can get people out of the drive-thru so they can win money? (I know this as i had the unfortunate opportunity to work for McDonald's, manged 3 days and couldn't hack it-I think its the worst, most unprofessional and unorganised company to work for!)

Anyway, my dad has put a complaint in at McDonald's, and they have sent a prepaid envelope (which is tiny and doesn't actually fit the dispenser in) and they will "investigate" the situation. I will let you know how that goes...

Makes me think twice about going to McDonald's..but then i love fries so its a hard decision ;)

Has anything like this happened to you? Feel free to comment or leave suggestions!

Hey streaky lady! I like your glow..

:) Hello all.. Just a quick update!

So, as you all recently heard i used fake tan instead of moisturizer...awkward. The next day, i woke up with extra orange knees and streaky legs, plus even stripey hands. It was so attractive as you can imagine ;)

Thankfully, it has almost disappeared and i no longer look like a umpa lumpa gone wrong!

Hope your all happy and your having a good weekend :)
